Limewire Vs. Norton Anti-Virus 2005

I recently updated my limewire to the newest version. Only problem is that now it wants to place worms in my computer. Everytime I get on I have to hit permit to these worms over and over, seems like they'll never end. I tried to permit it by checking it on Norton as a safe program, but Norton doesn't even have it on there. And I tried a system restore but it is still with the newer version. If I do not get this resolved my father will take limewire away from me forever! Can anyone HELP?!?!?!

Limewire does not attempt to put worms in your system.....
Where did you get your update of LW from??From here:
http://www.limewire.com/
Some badly written Spwware programs sometimes recognize LW as a threat; this can be solved by either including LW into the exception list of such a program or by uninstalling such a poor program and using a more reliable one.
As for your Norton,......read here about how to configurate it properly:

I have the same problem, despite 'permitting all' Limewire connections in Norton antivirus 2005 and also using system restore. Makes me think this must be a bug with the new version since the older one worked fine. The thread foolofthehill linked to applied to people using Norton Internet Security, not Norton Antivirus, but thanks anyway. Now how do we sort this out?

A no. of users have had problems after updating to LW 4.12.3 & the answer was to delete the previous settings for gnutella/limewire in Norton, & to reconfigure Norton again.

Fix Norton Security Alert Internet Worm Protection

To Fix Norton Security Alert Internet Worm Protection has detected!

1.) Close LimeWire.
1.) Go into Norton 2005 AntiVirus Options Tab.
2.) Click Internet Worm Protection.
3.) Click Program Control.
4.) Delete anything in there that says LimeWire.
5.) Click OK, Click Ok Close Norton 2005 AntiVirus.

Run LimeWire the security Alert box should come up again. Click Ok to permit.
