Microsoft Windows 98 SE
LimeWire 4.12.3
Problem: My LimeWire icon down in the bottom right of my taskbar at the bottom of the screen is dark. It is not green and yellow anymore. It is just dark with no color. Is this some kind of error message? Let me know what I need to do about this. Any help is very much appreciated.

Question: My songs in LW were out of order so I click on name until they were ordered correctly ( A to Z ), well everytime I restart, songs are out of order again, how do I make them stay organized everytime I restart. Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks for taking time to read this message.

OK, it is set at 16 bit and at 32 things do not look right, so I set it back. My LW bar when I have it open shows ok in the middle of the taskbar ya know, it is just that one at the bottom far right where messengers are and things like that. Everything else looks fine. I deleted that file. Maybe it will fix it on the next restart. I restarted LW and still the same thing. When AVG does it, it means it needs an update. Any other help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I used to get that once in awhile with the old versions of Windows. Check that
your screen is set to 16 bit or higher colour mode then find
c:\Windows\ShellIconCache and delete it.

The icon cache file file will have the hidden attribute, so if you can't see it go
into the Tools menu, then Folder Options, then in the View tab set "Show hidden
files and folders"

After a reboot your icons should look better.

If you usually use 32 bit colour stick with that and be in that mode when you
delete the icon cache and reboot. After that it will take a while for Windows to
rebuild the cache because it only caches them as they are used.

Some programs do manipulate their icons but I don't think LimeWire is one of them.

Well LW was having no problem before, but since my Windows XP computer broke down and I am back on this one, it is messed up. I don't know if re-installing LW would help or what but I will give it a shot when I am all done. I won't lose my shared files will i?
