Just a quick Question I recently downloaded LW Pro and im having some trouble viewing text on searches, downloads and such. I seem to only be getting half or less of eah letter of a word sometime none at all. just wondering if anyone has a fix for this as i think i got to about page 25 in this forum before i gave up and decided to post. Ive already installed the newest version of Java. Thanks in advance for any help |
Display sounds like a problem with the graphic card or monitor, though I'm not sure. You could try to right click the LW icon on the desktop and then choose Properties>Compatibility and change the compatibility mode to either Windows NT or Windows 2000.......... http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
I have the same strange problem too.I lowered my monitor to 1280 to 1024 but nothing changed. Can it be from java?I also uninstalled and installed the lw but same thing goes on.I tried never version of nvidia driver nothing changed.my cousin uses lw with nearly same configuration but crt monitor instead of lcd.I am stucked in so help please |
Ok i redownloaded my drivers and installed again... Fixed the problem but now i have this pop up every 5-10 sec or so saying that says "Limewire was unable to write a necessary file because you do not have necessary permissions |
I think you got a virus my friend.and maybe you dont use the admin rights in your xp |
not showing any Viruses on my computer right now just did 3 different scans, and i am the only login for this computer Im set up as the admin in the user profiles, i even logged in as the default admin to test and its still giving me the pop up. everything is working fine just keep getting that pop up |
well then uninstall limewire and boot your computer with the safe mode and install limewire again.I hope it works for you |
First thing to try is to delete the LW preference folder as described in this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=36420 If this doesn't fix it, uninstall LW and all Java on your computer. The downlaod the JRE offline installer of the newest version (1.5.0_07) from here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp Make sure that you reboot after uninstalling and after new-installing of Java before re-installing LW also using the offline installer.exe. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1.../Smilywais.gif |
I think i fixed it! Uninstalled Java when i was looking at it i had 2 versions running... also i had the Limewire folder saved in a non shared folder, no pop ups recently gonna leave it running for a bit to check but thanks for the help guys/girls!!! |
