Have you had a look through your shared folder (tools > options > sharing) to check exactly what's there? If there are files that you don't recognise & haven't downloaded (providing nobody else has access to your LW & could've been downloading without you knowing), I'd recommend a visit to Norbiesworld.
If you go to the site, register & follow the directions for free computer help then Norbie will be able to check out your computer & tell you if you've got any uninvited guests onboard;)

You have to be REAL careful with LW... it has a bias towards sharing and in its default mode will share 120 file types from your shared folder. Since I've come across tons of private files it seems easy for some users to lose track of what files they are making public. For example they may chose My Documents as the original download file. Combine the two and you can see the problem.

If you're not sure what is being made public I'd kill all uploads until you can be sure you're ONLY sharing what you want to.

in your shared folder or files or where ever you have the downloaded contentsaved to, there will be a "_" or and "-" this is your problem its a bad file packed with something you downloaded. you will have to go in the fold containing it and manually delete it, then uninstall and reinstall lw i get it all the time nothing really, just irritating. then when you get limewire reinstalled go to Start>My computer> C:>program files> limewire there will be a browser file there that appears empty the name is "donotremove" DELETE THIS FILE! i don't know why limewire contains it but imake lw do weird thing and run slow. its way faster without it

good luck

To my knowledge there is no file in the LimeWire file named "donotremove". It sounds like you may have a virus. I would advise that you go to Norbie's world and post a hijack this log and have him take a look at it. You can get there by clicking on the link (the blue one) below my name.
