mouse buttons won't click on limewire

i have been able to install limewire with no problems and nothing out of the ordinary. once i open limewire though i am unable to click on anything inside the limewire window or the window itself. i can't close, minamize, move, right click, nothing. however it does highlight what i am rolling over with the mouse i just can't click on anything. i am able to use the mouse on anything else on screen whether limewire is open or not. when i open the task manager it just says that limewire is running it does not say not responding. however, if i use the keyboard i am able to somewhat use limewire by hitting the tab key to change what is highlighted and using enter, i can even run a search. but i am unable to use all of the options. i have downloaded the latest version of limewire and i'm running windows xp on a lenovo computer (if that helps anyone). if this can be fixed it would just make using the program alot easier and enjoyable. thanks

noideawhatisgoingon either :D

don't wait for a reply by the computer, think this one will take a while to figure out.

could you post setupdetails

Please try to answer all the questions.

Just copy/paste this into a reply with your answers

1. What's your connection like - do you have any green bars at all?
Is there a brick wall in front of world ?

2. Do this test & see if it works. What does it say ?
http://www3.limewire.com:6346

3. What are your details

OS ? (Win XP, Mac OSX etc.)
How much free harddiskspace ?
How much RAM ?
LW & Java version ? (In Limewire press Help>about LW & you'll see)
What Firewall you're using ?
Any Antivirus/spyware programs that youre using ?
Modem/router brand & model ?
Are you using portforwarding, UPnP or nothing ? (Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewall Config)
What is your listening port ? (Same as above)
ISP (Internet Service Provider) ?
Connection type (Dial-Up, ADSL, DSL etc.) + Speed Up/Down if you know ?
Where you connect from (home, school etc.) ?
Are you sharing a connection with other computers ?
Has Limewire ever worked for you ? If so how long have you been using it ?

Have you tried using any other P2P apps & if so, do you have the same problems (BitTorrent, Shareaza etc.)?

Give a detailed description of your problem. Also include any attempts to fix this. It helps people rule things out

Also if possible with your problem also post a bugreport (kinda doubt you can get there but try)

it's in tools>options>bugreport>example bugreport use ctrl+a to highlight ctrl+c to copy and then paste it in a reply

I'm pretty sure that a Java update fixed this problem for one person (can't find the thread right now though:o)... give it a try.
Remove your current version of Java (add/remove progs) & reinstall JRE using the offline installer, point 1 below
Fixes for LimeWire

All the fixes in that thread are worth a try incase the Java doesn't solve it

Also did you by any chance install Limewire using the online (recommended installer) ? If you did then try the offline installer and remove your current limewire (Don't use add/remove programs. Go to Start>Programs>Limewire>Uninstall or go to your Limewire programs folder and execute the uninstall file) Then install using the offline installer

you might want to also defragment your Hard Drive. And perhaps do it maybe once a week if you could. to maximize performance.

to do this:

Start>My Computer
Right click on your hard drive and click properties.
Click the tools tab.
Then click Defragment Now...
When the defragment window opens up, click analyze.
When its finished, it will tell you if you need to defragment or not.
