Searching in Hebrew

It seems that Limewire (basic and pro) does not accept Hebrew fonts in the search window.
I am not talking about the language of the menus and all. I want to type Hebrew word in the search window and all I get is blank squares.

Can it be that LimeWire do not support Unicode characters?

I;m guessing no one replied to you privately. Any luck w/ getting Hebrew in your search? I know friends who are able to do this, but still no luck on my end. I have Hebrew on my computer and also installed the latest version of JRE, as someone recommended, but still no luck.

Strange, I thought I answered a similar question some time back. Perhaps not. Change your LW to Hebrew in the language options under LW's menu bar, View>Language. Then search the hebrew files you're after. LW will tend to find sources in the same language group as location, but that doesn't mean it totally limits itself. I have no problems finding asian language material.

BTW you will need hebrew language support on your operating system to use it properly.

I don't get to see "all" posts on the forum, but certainly many. If I can help I will try. :)

Ring Master,

Hebrew is not available under view/change language, although I was under the impression that 'change language ' only impacts the user interface and should not impact the search field. Having said that, it is possible I need to change some added language support area on my WinXP Pro system, but where/what is not clear to me. From what I can tell, I have full Hebrew support now, including a language bar in my task manager, that allows me to switch from En to He. I can visit sites and type in Hebrew with both IE and FF and can type in Hebrew in MS Office products. Any other thoughts? Thanks for the input.

hey! i like your "Better late than never to reply. " to the other guy. made me laugh. having said that, i did the search earlier and did a similar search now. i couldn't find any new advice. i believe hebrew is fully enabled on my system, as evidenced by its use elsewhere, and i am running the most recent version of LW and JRE. I'm stuck yet i know it can be done. :(

As said a long time ago, I was sure hebrew was already an option. If I'm confused at what I'm looking at can you post some hebrew examples here. :D

Else see http://www.limewire.org/translate.shtml

The best person to speak to is Verdyp who is the main person who contributes toward languages or manages/coorditates them, etc.

Hey, I had already looked at that page as well. Hebrew is in the process of being translated, from what I recall, but is only like 30% done. That page, and the option in LW (view/change language) changes the user-interface. Instead of a button saying "search" in English, it would say it in Hebrew. See http://im****ingdepressed.com/comrade/hebrew.JPG for hebrew font. My issue is more related to the search field. I'd like to type the name of a song, for example, in Hebrew in the search box but the Hebrew characters do not appear correctly. (*** = the F word.. sorry)

Why don't you contribute so it can be finished? Obviously LW is waiting on someone to voluntarily offer that time & assistance. ;) :)
