Plz plz help, what happens to deleted files?

I accidentally deleted files from "library" on limewire. Where can I find them again? My life seriously depends on it.. PLEASE!!!!!!!

If you delete a file from inside limewire they don't go to the the recycle bin. They are gone.

You'll need to do a system restore or get a file recovery program to retrieve your files. Use your cpu as little as possible until you do this.

Heres a thread with more info: DELETING FILES FROM LIMEWIRE LIBRARY-DON"T! - File recovery advice!

:( oh god.. how much would a recovery program cost?

Yeah ok thx man.. I just tried restoring my computer, but no luck there..

FFS help September 5th, 2006 11:14 AM

Trying with restoration...

FFS help September 5th, 2006 11:31 AM

Just a lil more help if i could get some: Restoration has found the files! Then I "restore by copying. Works beautifully.. But then they don't open.. Like with music for instance.. I doubleclick it but itunes doesn't play the song.. What should I do now?

Try right clicking on a file and choose open with

There may be something more needed though, but don't give up just cause it doesn't work

You may need to change extensions

Also some of the files may be ruined while others work so try a few

Though now I've tried a few more and it's weird; about half of the songs work, half don't.. I won't give up, but I think I'll have too keep working on it tomorrow.. I've been by this f***ing computer for about 6 hours now :(

Thx for the help, you guys have been awesome :)

Try this tool on the ones that don't work

have the setting on 0 before trying 1

FFS help September 6th, 2006 12:11 AM

Nope didn't work...

FFS help September 6th, 2006 12:33 AM

I'm done here.. I've saved about half of the files, lost about 15 hours of music and a few documents.. I don't want to keep working on this, it's too much:bangh: .. I'm happy i got this far, thx guys.. I'm not blaming this on Limewire, but I would suggest that they remake it so that when you "delete" it sends files to the recycle bin in their next update
