Limewire isn't running

Hey, I'm new to this whole limewire thing but decided to download it today.

Everything went well until I tried running it. Nothing happened, so i tried and tried again, restarted my computer, and nothing got better. I even uninstalled it a few times and installed it again, and it still didn't run.

So I looked inside my Limewire folder and saw a bunch of notepad files appearing each time I tried running it, so I opened one up and it said this:

Does anyone know what's wrong, or how I could fix this? I really want to start using limewire.

Thanks in advance!

Uninstall your current version of Java. Now reinstall JRE using the offline installer
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

When that's done, reinstall LW using the offline installer (when you install, LW will automatically uninstall the previous version)
http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

See how that goes;)

Oh no...

Bad news, very very bad...

I uninstalled Java like you said. But there were two Javas. One of them was JRE, the other was Java 2... I deleted both of them. Wish probably wasn't such a good idea in the end.

Well anyway, I installed Java and Limewire again... and the same problem is still going on. To make things worse, JAVA ITSELF isn't working (I can't open the console!!)

The worst part is that it displays the same error message that I got when I tried running Limewire!!!!

is there anyway to re-do my uninstalling of "Java 2", which I have a feeling that I shouldn'tve?

Or am I totally screwed?

Lord of the Rings September 10th, 2006 02:33 PM

Did you use the "Offline" installer or the online one? The offline one should not give any problems.

Oh nevermmind, I fixed it. Thanks!
