First of all, do not post multible threads to the same problem of yours; that's against the forum rules!!

As to your problem, you could take a look at this thread, the solution for your problem might be there:

Another thread refering to this problem would be this one (look at the links of the third post of LOTR):

Default I Think I Know Why

Limiwire is not designed to run on Windows ME. Here is the list of the operating systems that will work with Limewire!

Any of these operating systems:
Windows XP, 2000, 98, NT, 95,
Mac OSX 10.2.6,
Mac Classic 8.1 or later,
Linux, Unix such as Solaris

Not exactly techgeek,.....though ME is not mentioned at the LW website, it is also suitable to run LW. Actually, the ME version is just a beefed up version of the 98; besides, before I upgraded to XP & Vista I had ME running with LW 4.9.23 and it worked pretty smoothly.....

You can't, because it's an outdated version and such versions should not be anymore used since they will/would harm the network in the long term.

Try to check the both links I gave you. One thing you could also try is to right-click the LW icon on your desktop and choose Properties>Compatibility (though I can't remember whether ME offers this option) and change the compatibility to Windows 2000 or Windows NT.
