The latest Java is 5.0 update 9. If you need to update then remove your current version of Java & reinstall JRE using the offline installer here

Are you getting a grey screen when LW freezes at Language Options? Have a look at posts #5 & #6 in the thread below, the fixes there have worked for other people:wink:

Delete the LW preferences folder (points 2 & 3 below)
Fixes for LimeWire

Did you try changing compatibility?

You could also try reinstalling LW (sorry if you've already tried that, just that you didn't say) but make sure to use the offline installer, not the recommended one.

freezing

For some reason, ever since yesterday, Limewire keeps freezing on me. I use a Mac and generally have had no problems. But every time it completes a download, Limewire freezes and I have to force quit. It also suddenly takes an absurdly long time to load. I have not installed anything new on my computer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Limewire, but this did not change anything.

Has anyone else had this happen and how did you manage to solve it? Thanks.

I have used Limewire pro for some months. In the last two days it is freezing the computer..can only reboot to get the computer going asgain. If I reload Limewire I shall lose the 'incomplete' files. I have CA anti virus and windows firewall with exception allowed for Lime wire. Pl educate!!
