Wont let itunes be default player
 

need a little help. when i search limewire i only get windows media download options. i figured i have to set itunes as the default player, but when i try to set it as default, it says i do not have access privelliges. I try to use the start>programs>set access and defaults thing but it still wont let me. i am just assuming this is why limewire is coming up with only windows media files but i could be wrong. Someone help me out plz

To set iTunes as the default player:
Go to your LW library, click on Saved Files then click Explore. Now your saved folder's open...right click on a file > open with > choose program > select iTunes > tick the box to always use this program to open files of this type > ok.

You might have to change the file types that WMP associates with:
Within WMP go tools > options > file types > untick the formats that you don't want WMP to play > apply > ok.

also wondering why the songs dont automatically get added to my itunes library. that did fix the problem though, thanks birdy

I think songs can only be added automatically if you use a Mac!
