Deleted songs in LW but still in iTunes
 

I just bought an iPod and figured out how to transfer my songs from LW and synced them to my iPod. Then I think I did something stupid. :confused: I deleted the songs from my LW library. They still show up in my iTunes library but when I sync my iPod it says it can't find the files (because I deleted them). The songs are still on my iPod, thank goodness. Is there anyway to get the files back into the LW library?

Simply share your iTunes library. iTunes shared library. If the files "are" still in your iTunes library then iPod should still be able to see them. Remember the LW playlist that shows up in iTunes is simply a reflection of the files in your LW downld folder. You can play them but not copy or burn from that playlist.

Perhaps you should start using manual updating of iPod. I believe it's much safer. Otherwise iPod deletes all files & replaces them with what's in iTunes or the playlist you copy across.

So I have not committed a major faux pas? All the songs do show up in iTunes and are still on my iPod, I double-checked. I was simply trying to not have too many duplicate music files on my computer. As long as the songs will play I guess I'm okay.

But the example suggests the possibility of sharing just one artist or album. You can share the entire iTunes library.
I have. I only share parts of it now because at over 100 GB my iTunes library is a little large. lol :D I also share other types of files.

Now if I can just find the file on my computer with the songs on iTunes I would be back in business. They're not saved in My Music.
