please help again (Mediacenter)
 
ok so I fixed one thing and i need some more help, everytime my pc starts up an error message pops up saing "Media Center Reciver Service encountered a problem and needs to close" so i click dont send error report and 10 seconds later it comes up again, i have resorted to moving the window to the bottom of the screen so it is out of the way but i really need to fix it , HELP!!:yikes:

Follow the error report it could be a simple Driver update needed.
If that dont fix it Post back with more details.

well see, i dont know aything about computers really. whats a driver update and how do i get it?

there is one thing that makes a MediaCenterPC unique...the infrared remote and its receiver (which is mounted in the case)...I run XP MCE without the above items as I made my box and decided upon MCE because its basically the same as XP pro yet cost $10 less...

anyways, sounds like one of the pieces of hardware is failing...as a guess I suspect the batteries in the remote need to be replaced...

or, as previously noted, it might be the associated drivers for the receiver...

if its not that, then most likely its a warranty issue with the receiver...

since you have a 'real' MediaCenter PC, then call the manufacturer and talk to them about it..they will be able to direct you to where/how to get the drivers for the device

yeah when i hit the media center button on the remote, it doesnt open. but when i hit the volume button up and down nit works so does everything else

sounds more and more like a warranty issue...again, as noted, call the manufacturer of your PC and talk to them
