Help! installation issues

I've just tried to download limewire. It installs just fine but is unable to install java. I go to java.com to install and it finishes and says it encountered an error with windows installer and lime wire still won't run.

Don't use the online installers
Download Java using the offline installer for JRE here
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Go to add/remove programs & remove your old Java version (if there is one) before installing the new version.

Once Java's installed, download LW also using it's offline installer

It says there is an error in the web page when I try to download the offline version

What browser are you using? Can you try a different browser?

just internet explorer

I just tried with IE6 & had no problems. Sorry but I don't use IE & don't know the ins & outs of it
Someone else might have more clues???

Do you get errors with other pages?

yes actually I do, links are being a pain to night, maybe I'll just put off my explorations into the world of lime wire off for a day and try again later when my internet isn't being dumb, thanks for your time, I appreciate it.
