Have you tried another player? Disable the LW player (tools > options > player) & make something else your default...see if that makes a difference:wink:

Then you choose another player to open the files. What players do you have?
If you go to your LW library, click on Saved Files then click Explore...your saved folder (where all of your downloads are saved) will open. Now right click on a song > open with > & you can choose which player you'd like to open music files.

If things play well & you want to keep that player as the default (so it will always be the one used to play music files of that type), you can tick the box to always use that player for those file types:)

I've used LW for a good while and all things have played alright, before. It started not to play anything a few days back. I've tried changing my default player to somthing else. That failed! The files are in MP3 format. The sound is fine on my computer and I don't know anything about a CD playback. I didn't preview any tracks before downloading them. Both downloaded and added files won't play. :bangh: Please help me!!! Thnx!

Try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's closed. Instructions in points 2 & 3 below (depending on whether you've used an older version of LW before, you might have a prefs folder in either location so check both).
Fixes for LimeWire

Deleting this folder will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through & re-set things afterwards.
