![]() looks legit to me...if you are in doubt I guess you can contact Micro$oft and ask if there are any complaints against that retailer... and of course real copies can be updated..the only 'catch' with that OEM copy is that once installed into a machine, it stays with that machine...said 'machine' is pretty much defined as the MotherBoard...if said board fails and HAS to be replaced you can contact M$ and wrangle that out with them...

![]() I didn't say you couldn't uninstall it...I said that with an OEM copy you cannot transfer it to another machine (read computer)...i.e. it is meant for one machine and one machine only...if you HAD to replace the motherboard because of physical failure, the OS would cease to work (because XP would see the change in hardware) and require a new install...and this would fail because the records @ Micro$oft would recognize that you had a different board and would not give you the required activization...hence you would have to call in person and convince a representative that you HAD to replace your motherboard.... with the more expensive full retail copy you are allowed to move the OS to a new machine as you like, with the caveat that you remove it from the old machine...i.e. you pay to have one working copy of XP..if you want to have multiple machines, you must pay for an OS for each machine..
