Get a better player. Don't you mean Mpeg-4. Mpeg-2 is DVD in most cases

www.videolan.org

Other good players and codecpacks etc. are here:

I personally use this one and find it quite good. It comes with integrated mediaplayer classic as well:

http://www.xpcodecpack.com/

Mediaplayer Classic is also my preffered player. Has some really great options other players don't have like stretching the picture to fit better to screen. NumLock+9 (It just cuts a bit of the sides while getting more height)

If you are talking about videos downloaded from Limewire, then no way are they DVD. Also unless it's really old all those players will work (Windows XP)?

Windows Media Player isn't very good. You would be better off using those I mentioned above.

VLC should even play DVD

Video downloaded from Limewire is normally .avi , .mpeg or .mpg

DVD is .VOB

what is the last piece of the filename? (Don't mention whole titles)

Does that work?

Try this one if it doesn't http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...ckage_id=84358

Then pick mpc2kxp6490.zip it should work on win2000
