![]() I have been using LW happily for a little while and then after I adjusted some stuff (what I can't remember) I cannot view my video's/movies (avi files) anymore. I get the error message " cannot find vids:mp43 decompressor" Can anyone help me please? Thanks so much! |

![]() You might need codecs for your player. There's a link to codec packs below Codecs & VLC There's also a link to VLC palyer, which you could try if you like. It's free & has codecs installed. If you decide to try it, check the thread below for some tips Using VLC player (Windows) |

![]() what you will probably need to do (since you used to be able to watch videos) is to go into add/remove programs (via your control panel) and remove all codec pacs, then install a new codec pac...if you've recently used Windoze Update and updated WMP, then that may be the root of your problems...

![]() Peerless...thanks for writing. Got everything you wrote but exactly HOW do I do what you wrote, lol. I tried to find the codes in the add/remove program but not as easy as I had hoped. Need some guidance. Also you were right I did recently upgrade my Windows...messed up the vid's big time. Thanks. LadyK1 |

![]() in windows XP you would hit the start bar and choose control panel... once there, you would double click on Add or Remove Programs...wait for the list to be populated...then scroll through and look for any codec pacs you may have installed...for instance, I have the Klite codec pac installed, and its clearly listed as such...once you find it, choose to uninstall/remove it...then reinstall it (you will of course need the installer to do so...it might be a good idea to hunt one down before you begin this process)
