I'd like to hear the answer to that myself. Here's the deal..you try to get a file from me and you are not sharing or I can't browse your files or ask you to open up a slot for me and I'll do likewise, I'll kill your upload and so will THOUSANDS of other decent sharers. Having no chat is causing a lot of unnecessary kills on this end and it is a huge cause for festering freeloading because you have absolutely no way to educate a newbie or call out a freeloader. If killed uploads and freeloading is what LimeWire intended to accomplish, then by all means, don't ever fix the Chat function and judging from the date of the very first post concerning it, it looks like it never will be fixed.

I apologize if I kill your upload folks but I will not brook CONSTANT and UNASHAMED freeloading.
