Limewire Not Opening

Hey, whenever i click the icon, nothing opens, any ideas?

Go to the LW program folder & try opening the LW program directly. If it opens ok, then recreate the shortcuts to replace the others. Otherwise see Fixes for Limewire

Nope, it still wont open, I've checked in task manager processes, it doesnt even appear when i double click it. I've done the prefs folder too. HEEELP!

But should there be other things in the .limewire folder apart from a NET file Gnutella.net and a Folder called .NetworkShare

Yes there should be various things inside the LW prefs folder. The idea is to delete the entire folder ... not the contents & leave the folder empty. Next time you open LW it will recreate the prefs folder.

But Limewire doesn't open for it to create a new folder :whistling: I've tried deleting the prefs folder and it still doesnt open, please help :(

So you reinstalled Java using the offline version after removing the previous versions? Tried changing compatibility mode?

sladey_wkd January 3rd, 2007 12:58 PM

Compat mode? how?

sladey_wkd January 3rd, 2007 01:18 PM

Bah, never mind, ill just use another P2p program, thanks for the help though anyway :-)

Ok ... well that's obvious you didn't even go to the original link I gave for things to try or try more than one of them. So good luck in the future mate. I wouldn't give a sh*t what you do so go ahead & go elsewhere. A good one to try is Phex to see if you have the same problems.

You're an impatient prik eh mate. So well .. no loss to the network. You're obviously a leech ... take what you want & don't share back & disappear like a phantom. That's not what the gnutella network is designed around. So why not disappear off to Kazaa.
