Closes on starting
 

Hey guys. I could'nt find a post on this topic, but i'm sure there are some somewhere. When I open limewire, just after it's finshed loading saved files and comes up with the tip of the day, Limewire Closes no warning no error message. This happens everytime I open it, and the Limewire icon stays on the icon tray until I run the mouse near it when it vanishes. I have'nt used Limewire for about 4 months due to this, but I have the most recent version. (basic not pro) When I uninstall/reinstall the problem does'nt go away. And I can't change any settings or find out what's wrong because the program closes before I get a chance. Any suggestions?

Try steps 1, 3 & 5 of the sticky below. When you update Java, make sure to use the JRE offline installer. Remove your current Java version before you install the new one.

If that doesn't help, reinstall LW & use the offline installer (not the recommended one)

If it's still not opening after that, if you're using any antispyware, make sure that LW's on the list of exceptions/allowed apps. Some programs will wrongly pick LW as a threat & stop it from working properly.
