I don't see how this relates to LimeWire in any shape or form. It sounds like you may have removed some drivers for your burner or something. Reinstall those & see how it goes.
You didn't explain "how" you removed files from the registry. So chances are you or the program you used removed some others non-applicable to LW.

The normal way to uninstall LW is thru the start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall. Or go to the program folder & find the uninstaller. If you used the add/remove control panel instead then that's a no no! Despite seeing the uninstaller in the start menu every time you opened it via the start menu ... you decided not to use it?!
