no "connection" tab in 2.02, only search, monitor, and library I just downloaded the new program and there is no connection tab in the program. I d/l and reinstalled twice but no help. There are only "search", "monitor", and "library" tabs. What is up with this? Thx, Brad |
Under the "view" menu you can activate the tabs you wish, "connections" included which is disabled by default. |
Thanks Carlo! I looked for about an hour trying to figure that out. I have no idea how I missed it. One more question if you have time. I am comparing 2.0.2 to version 1.7 that I used for a few months. In the new version, again on the connection screen, I have none of the options to "use auto connect hosts" or to search for new servers. Now all I have is the listing of the server that is connected. I only can get one connection even though I have the max allowed setting to 5. Do you know what is up with this? Thanks, Brad |
Glad to help Brad, so another feature of 2.0.2 is the "ultrapeer" system: your client searches for one of these (as you can see under the protocol line in connection tabs) and drops all the other connection. Done this you have become a "leaf", which grants you more bandwidth because the ultrapeer filters out most of the messages (that is why you recieve less incoming searches...). On the other hand, a lot of users (like me) have experienced poor results when being a leaf, but I am confident that with next versions there could be some possible solutions. Carlo |
Thanks again Carlo, You are a brilliant man! Aloha, Brad |
