Hey NEw question Hey Birdy

:bangh: Ok so now after all these time I give up :shoot: . I now know what the problem is and I cant fix it so .... What happens is no matter what I've been working on this for a month if you have winantivirus you CANNOT keep it from interfering with Limewire it sucks . As many time I have uninstalled in stalled spent weeks trying to make it work I find out its not the Limewire. I tried to make adjustments to the winantivirus to give Limewire permission on applications and pop ups total disreguard to Limewire and it WILL not stop . It still keeps the Limewire from even loading GEEEEZ ! All I did was uninstall winantivirus and boom Limewire works like a Dream. So heck with it I spent a butt load on the antivirus combo / spyware with winantivirus made by microsoft .... go figure . I want my Limewire !!!!!!! Im willing to get a new antivirus and spyware program and thats my question what works well with Limewire ? I have XP Pro . ..And to anyone else if you have winantivirus Pro BE afaid very afraid . It bites . So give me some input please  Thanks

WinAntiVirus is on the list of rogue/suspect products here

You're better off without the stupid thing if it's going to give false positives.WinAntiVirus isn't made by Microsoft.
**Edit - This actually looks like it can be nasty

There are heaps of good, free programs around. Here are a few to start you off.

Anti-virus:

avast!

AVG free

Avira Antivir

Antispyware etc

ad-ware __(FREE)

Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE)

AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido)

If you use the forum search, you'll find more info like this;)

Let's just keep this all in 1 thread, to make it easier to read.

AFAIK the avast! Pro doesn't have any antispyware included. Don't just leap in & buy something when you have the chance to test a free version first;)
Some things just don't work well for some people...for instance I just can't run avast! successfully. But I can run others. Go for the freebie first, if you're happy with that then upgrade to a paid version if you want to.

It's not so hard to have separate AV & antispyware, I wouldn't be without Spybot & Ad-Aware. Give things a try, find out how they work for you.
