Whats wrong wiv my media player?

Hello Everyone

 needed, I download videos fine, no probs, but when I try to play them in my media player it tells me

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file.

Why is this coming up ( I have been able to listen to music and have files that I can watch- I have unchecked the limewire player box in tools)

Please help- getting really disheartened :bangh:

Thanks x

If you are trying to play AVI video files, I would download and install the DivX and XviD codecs. For DivX, you only need the codec (not the player or anything else).

http://www.xvid.org/

Hope this helps

P.S. I use a free program called AVICodec to determine what codecs video files need. Just drag and drop files. If you don't have the codec on your computer, it has links to the website where you can get it!
