Any Bullguard Antivirus users? Hi all (again). Does absolutely anyone on here use the latest version of bullguard antivirus? If you do can you help us out maybe. Basically, I do scheduled scans now and agin to obviously check my comp isn't infected or anything and bullguard keeps picking up the same files over and over again. I think its finding malware and spyware because when I do a system scan it keeps finding it, and obviously I delete it. These files are linked to LW and I can't find their exact location/source. I think Im safe though as these files don't seem to execute and I don't get pop-ups or dodgy warning messages when Im browsing the net. Does anyone else get suspected spyware and crap like that when doing a scan and do you know how to get rid for good. Cheers all! |
I'm not familiar with bullguard AV, but some AV's will give a false positive for LW. Possibly that's what's happening. These's work well with LW: ad-ware __(FREE) Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE) AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5__(FREE) More info in these threads: WARNING: Viruses on network you should be aware of! Anti-virus protection and so on LW doesn't contain viruses/adware/spyware, but you should always scan every file you d/load from any p2p program. |
Junior Member Sparky Like 6_Pac, I am also unfamiliar with Bullguard products but I know a liltte about AV's. Now, all AVs will have a logs/reports of all their scans and these logs will tell you exactly where the virus (or whatever) is found on your hard disk. However, some scans will be switched on automatically others may have to be switched on manually, you will have to counsult your Bullguard user manual to find out whether your log recording facility is automatic or not. In the past, I have had to delete compressed viruses manually, after finding out where they are situated. So, the moral of this story is:laugh_2:, read your AV logs. UK Bob |
Thanks you both. I will try to find out if it is a genuine virus or spyware or if Bullguard is just being false. |
