sorting search results does not work

When I do a search for files I would like the results to be sorted by size or type (depending what I am looking for) but neither seem to work for me. When I click on the tab at the top of the column the results change but they never sort in either ascending or descending order. Am I doing something wrong or is this a problem with limewire?

Hi cosmosis

It sounds like possably a corrupt java download, &/or L/W Prefs folder prob
First! close L/W completly, then Go,
START/My Computer/local disc C:/ Documents & settings/Your User Name/Application Data
Now Delete the LimeWire Folder.
If you cant find Application Data Folder,GO to Tools/folder Opions,& tick, show hidden folders,
You can put the setting back afterwoods to protect your computer.

note: You will have to reset your, Tools/options in L/W Later.

Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Now! Use this Link to get JRE 6 Use the off line installer NOT the (recormended) one,
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Follow thease instructions exactly.

Dont forget to reset your options in L/W, Licence warning n stuff.
Go to Tools > Options > Searching > Lisence warning and make sure the box is not ticked and then select apply....
Your feedback will help others
Any Problems Shout.
Peace.

Thank you for your reply. Deleting the limewire folder seems to have taken care of the problem. I installed JRE 6 a few days ago so I am guessing I dont need to do it again. I do have another question though. I have asked this in the past and can remember/find how to fix it. Is it possible to eliminate the tooltips (or whatever they are called when hovering the mouse pointer over a file).

The tab at the top of the column results that you mentioned, Right click it & its there somewhere.
Peace.
