Searching Problem

Recently, when I search for something in Limewire, nothing will show up. This problem came up over night, I'm guessing its from the update to version 4.12.11. I've checked the exceptions on the firewall, tried disabling norton antivirus (even though that was never a problem before), and everything I can think of.
A little help?
Thanks

i am having the same problem, it will show the four blue star results though, but nothing else, i re-downloaded limewire, my search settings are correct, idk what it could be, i have used limewire for a couple years now, and this comes out of nowhere

I am on the exact same boat as you. I have had it for a few years, I re dl-ed it, checked the settings, but still a no go. What I did was delete limewire and install frostwire. Frostwire works for me, so now I'm sticking w/ that.

Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down)
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder...

search problem fixed

I found the answer to this in another thread. Check your connections tab. Click on each individual host. Hit "browse host" at the bottom. If an error message pops up it is bad. Click "remove" and it will automatically find another one. Another user said a good way to tell if they are bad is if the numbers are almost exactly the same. My bad hosts were 204.11.219.232 and 204.11.219.229. After I got new ones my searches started working fine again!

ANY host that started with 204.11.219 was bad, keep removing them untill you get a host that doesn't start with those and you'll be good to go again! :rolleyes_2:

My hosts are being stupid!!!! lol

Idk, I tried deleting my bad hosts, and they keep coming back. I just downloaded the BETA version this morning and even before the download, I was having the same problem as the others. So what should I do? Reinstall the program, or do I have to resort to iTunes????? lol  :(

You will get a connection to some decent Ultrapeers soon, just be paitent, you could always put there IP's into your Host filter, that would probably stop them showing up again...;)

dolphingrl101 April 11th, 2007 03:57 PM

it took me awhile to find some good hosts....just keep on deleting them untill you connect to good ones. good luck

Hey guys and girls, Just checked the IP's with ARIN WHOIS and they both came back as Peak Web Hosting. Not sure what they are up to but I do know that PG2 always blocks them. You can check them out at http://www.peakwebhosting.com

Good point Remoc everybody that uses p2p should have Peerguardian 2...
