Hostiles File - I'm Lost

I am trying to place Aaron's hostiles file in Limewire. I cannot fine the "settings" file in Limewire which is where his post instructed to place it.

I have XP Home and latest Limewire.

I have my options set to view any hidden files/folders

I have the following folders/files in .limewire folder:

.NetworkShare (Folder), themes (Folder). xml (Folder), 412splash.free, createtimes.cache, data.ser, fileurns.bak, filelurns.cache, filters.props
gnutella.net, installation.props, library, limewire.props, pub1, public
questions.props, responses.cache, secureMessage, simpp, spam
table.props ,ttree.cache, update, version, version

Thanks for any help.

ADKR,

The "limewire" folder is the folder that contains the settings for LW. There's not a folder called "Settings". I think you may have gotten confused. That's pretty common around here. I'm confused most of the time :D.

When you click on the link to the hostiles list in this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=53973, you'll be prompted to d/load a zip file. Save it to where ever("My Documents"), unzip it and there'll be a document file called "hostiles.txt". Copy or cut and paste that file into the "limewire" folder you described(C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_NAME\Application Data\Limewire) and that's it. Next time you start up LW the list will take affect. You don't need to create any other folders or files.

You need to be using LW 4.13: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml

Try following the instructions in this thread as the LimeWire folder is hidden...
But once you find it don't delete it because this particular post is for deleting that folder, just right click on it, then open it and cut and paste the hostile list into it....Just follow Lotr's screenshot's....Now I'm confused.. lmao...:lmao:

6_pac and Wondering Why

Thanks for the help. That did the trick.

What would I do without forums? Shudder at the thought.

What should I see if hostiles.txt loaded?

I have followed the procedure but as far as I can tell its not loading. If I look in the Tools/Options/Hosts UI I don't see anything. The hostiles.txt file is in the C:\Documents and Settings\[my name]\Application Data\LimeWire folder. When I goto Help/About I see I am on Limewire 4.13.2 pro with java version 1.5.0_10

wondering why April 16th, 2007 01:36 AM

You wont find it in Limewire...It's in your preference folder which is not visable in limewire itself...
