i figured out what you are doing wrong, you are clicling on the wrong executible jar file and they will not open that is true for everyone. rev.

I was having the same problem with my Limewire and clicking on that file worked for me. Thanks!

have you tried going into "search" in the "start" menu and clicking on "all files and folders" then searching for "limewire.jar"? If you just search for Limewire it'll bring up a dozen results, but what you want is the executable jar file. try doing that, then just double click on the jar file.
