Limewire Logo pops up, but does not run

When I click to run Limewire, the splash screen shows up, but Limewire never loads. I've tried the numerous tips found in this thread but none work. I've tried:

-uninstalling Java and Limewire;
-doing a search (including hidden files) for anything containing lime or limewire and deleting it;
-doing a registry search for lime and limewire and deleting the keys;
-restarting;
-reinstalling java and limewire (both off- and on-line versions)

Nothing is working! Please help.

--EDIT--
System information:

1. OS version? Windows XP Home SP2
2. What firewalls you have? Router Firewall (Linksys WRT54G)
3. How much ram? 2GB PC2
4. Hard Disk space available? Tons >100GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys WRT54G
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? [COLOR="Red"******[/COLOR]
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) LW=4.12.11 Basic Java=6 Update 1
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Rogers
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It worked for me
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes, main router (Linksys) connects to cable modem and distributes wired connection throughout the house, another computer is connected to a D-Link printer server to share printer services throughout the house. This isn't the problem as it has worked on this setup previously.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. This is a new problem and only occured after I updated my Java platform to the new 6.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? I cannot even get into Limewire, as described above, the splash screen shows up and then immediately goes away with nothing else, not even a task/process in the Windows Task Manager

Any help??

Fixed

The problem was Java6 the whole time.

For all those experiencing the problem, uninstall Java6 and revert back to Java5, you should be fine after that.

1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) If that's doesn't help then see below.

2. Use your add remove control panel to remove all previous versions of Java you have. If necessary remove all & reinstall Java using the "Offline" installer. Sounds like a java issue to me.

Note: Rogers have been known to block or shape p2p users. Also, your model router is known as a lemon. It's unreliable performance-wise. But if it works for you then that's good! :)
