Hello and thanks for all the help, I have kinda sorted it, All i did was re-install java runtime SE and it worked fine :rolleyes_2: But low and behold java wanted to update so i did and it no-longer worked :nono: So i uninstalled the update and bingo it works again....Hope this helps the many people with the same prob :dance:

:mad: I am so frutrated, i ownloaded limewire yesteday it worked fine, know it wont open, so we deleted and tried to reownload and it saysthere is a old version already open in my system tray and to exit out of it then click retry, but i cant find it in my system tray, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:

How did you uninstall LW? Was it via add/remove programs? That can cause problems. The correct way to uninstall is to install a new version (without touching the original version), or start > all programs > LW & use the uninstall option there, or C:\Program Files\Limewire\uninstall;)

Open task manager (ctrl-alt-del), see if there's a LW process running. If there is, end the process.

If you uninstalled via add/remove pgms, use the computer's search to look for all LimeWire files & folders. Delete what you find. Now try to reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (not the recommended one).

i did asearch and it wont let me delete some of the stuff, it says these programs are being used by someone else, help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reboot & try again with all other programs closed.

I have the sme error. I do not have limewire running. I've checked everything, even downloaded 5.0 java. L/W hates meh!
