To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned.  I'd say the initial problem was with your Java version, it was a bit old... Go to your Add/remove programs and uninstall the current Java you are using... When you said that you uninstalled limewire did you do it from the add/remove programs ?? Limewire should always be uninstalled using the uninstaller you will find this by going to Start > All Programs > Limewire...So try this... Then you can try to install limewire again, use the offline installer not the recommended one....  If you still have problems let me know...

| Thank you. But I've unistalled Java. And I have tried to Unistall it from going to start>limewire>Unistall but it keeps giving me the same error report. Grr... |

| I tried to find limewire on the all- programs, and the limewire folder was empty, try to find the un-installer here go to my computer, then click on the C drive, then click on program files then choose the limewire folder from that directory and you will see the un-installer, so the path will be My computer, - C Drive, - program files, - limewire, - then the uninstaller file. make sure you have downloaded the installation file to re-install limewire before you follow these steps, and always keep a copy of it just in case you are not the main user on your computer you are kimmy so you do not have the permission to view or un-install i think ?  I've tried everything!! Nothing is working!! I did what you said and I can't find Limwire unistall. It gives me the same darn error! I am sooo lost! I've never had this much trouble with anything on my comp. Eek!  |

| Offline installations are the safest. Both for LW & Java. For Java, use add/remove control panel to remove your previous java versions. Then install the new Offline one Download Java software from Sun Microsystems which is a 13. 1 MB download, 2nd on list. For LW, also get the Offline installer. 2nd on download page. It will uninstall LW at the beginning of the installation process. If still problems, see Fixes for Limewire & try the options including the changing of compatibility to NT & 2000 & see if that helps. If you need to reinstall LW but have problems, then do as WW suggested & go to Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall. Then see Download ‘Other’ version & simply unzip & use! |

| Same thing @angelicfilth, i have the same thing, the message keeps popping up. this happened after i removed limewire with "add/remove programs". as, i now learn, i shouldn't have :s The limewire folder is still in c/program files, though it's not visible in the program files menu under start. the content of the limewire folder can't be removed, supposably because the item is in use. but i can't stop it either, because ctrl+alt+del seems to have been disabled. i also tried installing limewire again, but that's impossible because i need to remove the unremovable files first. awful software. hope someone comes up with a solution to this problem... help!... to "show you mine": LimeWire version 4.12.6 Java version 1.6.0_01 from Sun Microsystems Inc. | See Errors due to mistakenly uninstalling LW using Add/Remove control panel - what to try now. Read from here onward! You should uninstall the LW you have there atm. Start menu > Programs > LW > Uninstall Also check for viruses. |
