I'm glad i could help you all lol i was supposed to be doing skool work but meh... Limewire MUST work hahaha. Oh and if any of you Limewire tech dudes read this please do something to make Limewire compatible with Java 6 somehow you would do us proud...

wondering why May 7th, 2007 11:54 PM

Thankyou for the solution...;)
Java 6 does work with limewire as I run with it, but everybodies set up is different and what works for one may not work for another...:)

Mr. Help May 7th, 2007 11:57 PM

Then download Java 5 Update 11 which is the most previous version of Java and there is no pboblems with it...

After all this Defragment your computer just to tidy it up and all (This is optinal)
Then RESET your computer.. This should fix the problem it worked for me and i have told u everytihng i done... I hope this helps all you Limewire Fans. Ignore the Java program becuase it will tell you to update to version 6 dont do it i havn't tried it and i dont want to do this all over again so a summary over this...

Only Java you have is 5 Update 11
Reset Computer
All should be working

Another link for it: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

(Look for 5th on list) : ~
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 11
The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.

* However I would recommend the 2nd on list on the actual JRE download page which is the "Offline" download. It's always safer installing from your computer instead of over the internet. I would also suggest you close all internet programs before you re-install Java. ;)

Whats the differance? Will this help the Java 6 thing problem?

Lord of the Rings May 8th, 2007 12:04 AM

For "some" people, Java 1.6 isn't doing it's job properly. So that's why the jump back to java 1.5 is good for those some people. I have heard some releases of java 1.5 didn't work well for some people too. Same applied with some earlier versions of Java. (Same seems to happen with some versions of LW not working well for some people.) Just how things go. :D

Mr. Help May 8th, 2007 12:05 AM

Ahh awesome, so adventually it will all work out at sometime?

Mr. Help May 8th, 2007 12:16 AM
