Ultrapeer - > fewer files

Don't know what Ultrapeer is, although I tried to find out. But with 2.0.2, I always get an ultrapeer host. This host usually has one other, maybe two other (only once, five other) hosts. There are usually only 500Meg worth of files available, and it's harder than ever to find anything.

Before Ultrapeer, when I had four connections, and I left it to ambulate through the system for a while, I regularly had terabytes of data available, and it was easier to find things.

Since I think Ultrapeer is the culprit, I turned it off on my machine so that I don't act as an Ultrapeer for someone else.

ultrapeer sucks

I found the same thing happening, does turning off ultrapeer work? And does anyone know why once I had 20 or so incoming connections? When that happened, I could find anything anywhere instantly.... it was awesome, but only once....

But I can't trun it off. It always comes but with an ultrapeer-connection

utrapeer - > fewer files

Okay, I'm in this boat, too. With version 1.7 (or so), I regularly had at least 2 TB of files. Now with version 2, I get maybe several hundred Megs of files. What gives? Has anybody figured out if this has to do with Ultrapeer or not? I, too, had no luck turning it off in the prefs

LimeWire beta 2.1.1

Folks,

The host statistics are incorrect but check out the new beta version 2.1.1. It gives back great results by holding multiple ultrapeer connections.

To those having sparse results problems:

As suggested by Greg, I installed the latest Limewire BETA, and holy shiznit, it is spectacular. I'm regularly seeing Net Stats of over 100TB. Maybe those stats are inflated, but my searches are turning up ACES. And the swarmed downloads (I think) is just great.

Go straight over to Limewire.com and give those developers $6 of your money for Limewire PRO and then use the latest BETA instead.

bravo,

mick
