Angry Task Manager Issues

I suddenly can't open my Task Manager. The only thing I've downloaded on my computer lately has been files from Limewire. I've updated Windows, and updated and run both virus and spyware programs, which picked up nothing.

When I try to open Task Manager, the "CPU Usage" graph box shows up in the lower right icon area, and a similar box shows up on the bottom task bar with a computer monitor on it, but when you click either box, nothing appears. I've also tried to open Task Manager through start/run but nothing happens.

If I uninstall Limewire, will this solve the problem? I've seen several posts online about people having similar issues, but almost all of them report that they keep getting pop-ups and are having issues with Limewire restarting constantly in addition to no Task Manager (I'm not having these problems so far).

Any suggestions?

go to: C:\WINDOWS\system32

find taskmgr.exe and double clixor it...then see if you can by any chance find an unkown, to you, process running...if you see one that looks fishy, then if you are daring you can choose to kill it and see what happens...there is a program around called HiJackThis which will find all running processes, start up items, and some rather nasty stuff if it exists..
