BIZZARR-O problems with Limewire

I am having a really strange problem with LW v1.6b and LW 2.0. I am on a Win2K box. When I downloaded LW, nothing would install.... I was stumped.... figured out I needed JRE 1.3.1. Dowloaded it, everything installed OK and I was happy.

Upon launching either prog, my ZoneAlarm firewall popped up the usual yellow dialog and asked if javaw could access the net, I said yes. Then I connected and happily surfed.... UNTIL..... I rebooted..... then something from BillG-land bit me.

I can launch both flavors of LW but now they just SIT there trying to connect and getting nowhere. It's like they are not connected to the Internet. Remember these are the same Limewires that I used to download a bunch of stuff. I didn't change anything whatsoever. I don't know if it's related to a reboot or what but I had functional LW and then didn't. I tried uninstallign Java and then reinstalling.... believe it or not... it worked.... UNTIL another reboot. Is there something that is happening on Win2K startup that is addling Java???? Is this a known bug? I bend my knee at the feet of the Gnu-meisters... HELP!
