Changing the location of "Incomplete" files. Let me start by saying hello everyone. And thanks in advance for any help given. Also, I have performed a search and couldn't find what I needed, so I'm posting here. If I overlooked my answer somewhere I apologize. My question is simple. I have changed the location of where all my files dowload to. However, I can't seem to figure out how to change the location of where incomplete files are stored. Currently they go to a folder on my desktop labeled "Incomplete". I want to put this folder somewhere else. Any help? |
Your incomplete folder will 'follow' your saved folder. It just does. So, if your saved location was C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Shared... your incomplete location would be C:\Documents and Settings\your name\Incomplete. So if you've changed the location of your saved folder, your incompletes will follow! If you want a folder on your desktop, just make a shortcut from your incomplete folder to your desktop. |
More info Well that's just it. I don't want a folder for incomplete files on my desktop at all, but there is one. I have the directory for complete files as a specified folder on my desktop (called Downloads), but the incomplete files seem to be going to a completely different folder: the "Incomplete" one. So it's as though the incomplete folder hasn't followed my directory; it should be in the Downloads folder. What gives? |
Like I said before...your incomplete folder will 'follow' your saved folder...but won't go to the same folder as your downloads (the saved folder is for completed downloads, the incomplete folder is for downloads that have not yet completed). So if you're saving to your desktop then of course your incompletes will also save to your desktop, but in a different folder (an incomplete folder). What is your path for saving? If it includes \desktop then that's where your incompletes will go as well. If you don't want your incompletes to save to your desktop, change the location of your saved folder:blink: |
Got it Ok, I just didn't undersatand thoroughly. Got it all figured out now. Thanks again for the help. |
