limewire will not open
 

:confused: I downloaded limewire 4.13.6 for the first time last week. I was able to download and everything worked properly, but now when i click on limewire icon in my tool bar, at the bottom of the screen, nothing happens. There is no response when i right-click either. I tried going to the short cut and directly to the program and when i click on those the "limewire beta screen" appears as though it is booting up but then it never actually opens or even gets to the main screen. If anyone can help me out or offer any suggestions that would be great. thanks.

Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.

What version of Java are you using? Try this version. Use the offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one.

Try changing compatibility (point 5 in the 'fixes' thread).

If you like the Beta versions, try the newest Beta (4.13.8).
