hello,I use Limewire 4.12.6. Windows XP. windows media player 11.Dell 2400have had no problems before , but this morning ( is 1526 here ) I have been unable to launch anything from limewire at all.I have checked everything that my limited knowledge allows me, but although I can merrily download music, images or movies - I cannot launch them.any help would be gratefully appreciated.thanksGordon

try going to your limewire library, select the file and click on explore... it should open all your saved files, when you find the file right click and open it that way.

Question 1 ! ! !

What 'player' are you using when trying to open said files ?

2. What type of files are not 'working' ?

3. What Codecs Pack do you have installed... ?

Try Cole2k Codecs, a link to which you will find in my 'sig' below...
Use ONLY the "Cole2k STANDARD Pack" unless you REALLY know what you are about !

hi Ursula. I am using Windows Media Player 11. the files that do not work are anything saved earlier - avi, mpg, all of them. can be music files, images files or video files. when I try to launch any of them, there is no response. I shall only use the cole2kstandard pack - I most definitely do not know what I am about

OK, Mr. G, and hiya again...

You will find many, OOOOH, MANY... pros & cons re: so-called Codec Packs... Best I know of for the vast majority of ppl out there is Cole2k 'Standard'... Current-latest version is 6.0.9 -----

It works. Never had anyone complain... Honest...
Thing is, remember... if you update WMP or install another player or something like RealPlayer, your Codecs will be changed... Life's a *****, eh ?
Gosh, even big bad powerful me ain't allowed to type 'b i t c h' without the roBOT taking a slice ! What's the world coming too ?
Personally, I blame it all on Antipodeans !

:rolleyes_2:

So, reinstall Cole2k, right ?

Also, as you 'progress' with all of this stuff and you perhaps find something that you think is better, PLEASE be sure to let all of us know about it, right ?
