Limewire won't start

Hi, I've got a startup issue. Whenever I try to start Limewire, it pops up for a split second, then minimizes to the tray, then after about 5 seconds there, whenever you try to reopen, the program was terminated. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled Java, and that did help, as before that I didnt see any progress on the startup screen, it was just static. Can anyone help me out?

What version of java are you using? Some versions don't work well for some people. Try the version in this thread(point 1): Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!

I just tried it, Im now using 5.0 update 12 java. It's still doing the same thing. It pops up for a split second then terminates, it doesnt minimize like I thought. What could be causing this?

the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...
