Default Limewire Pro 4.12.11 won't start.

Since i updated my java i can't open my limewire(whenever i double-click the icon on the deskop) or through the program files. But i see other post and well, followed the instruction given but still nothing works. I download the offline installer for java 1.5.0.12 and haven't install it yet because i currently just remove the java platform (6)? yeah, have no idea what it is, so now i only have J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11. help?

That's ok just to have the JRE 5.11, make sure that is the only Java you have on your computer, so if you have any other versions uninstall them as well...

Also try deleting your preference folder/s...

Also try going back and deleting the LimeWire folder located C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\LimeWire then go to control panel > folder options >click on the View tab > put a dot in the circle nex to 'show hidden files & folders> apply > ok.

As some people have a folder that is called .limewire from the older version as well as the LimeWire folder which is from the newer versions....

Try starting fresh...
Uninstall all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...
Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

That's good, sometimes you just can't explain why one thing works for one and not the other...
Cheers...
