when i try to open limewire it says it has encountered a problem and needs to close and i have no idea what to do can anyone help me

It sounds like you have a corruption within limewire...

Try uninstalling Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire/uninstaller...
Then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link...
