Angry I Keep Getting An Error Message!!

Could someone please help me?

When using LimeWire I do what I have to do and then uninstall it as it slows my PC down.
I recently went to install it on my PC, and it was newer version. So I downloaded it but I keep getting an error message which I have typed out below....

"LimeWire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall program blocking LimeWire's access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow LimeWire access to the internet and restart LimWire."

I have never had any problems with LimeWire before and I haven't got a clue what to do. PLEASE can someone help? I will just die without my free music!

Thanks in advance!

B

Brett, Let me see if I got this right. You actually uninstall LW every time you end a session?? You can SHUT Limewire down when your done and it won't use any resources. Now on to the firewall problem.
Please answer the questions in thread below so we can take a look at what might be causing the problem.

OH, Bummer Dude. She might have also changed some settings and that may have something to do with your Firewall issue.

9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? Sky
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "Your test worked!"

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342

These are all contained within the sticky Connection problems? Check here first! but possibly some people are getting a bit confused or lost when we direct them to this sticky & ask them to provide their details.

This information can be vital
For instance, some ISPs are known for blocking p2p/throttling bandwidth, some connection devices are known for being unreliable in certain situations.

So please, help us to help you & provide as much info as you can.
If you're new to LW or new to computers & aren't sure how to answer some questions, or don't know what an ISP or router is - just say so. Nobody's going to yell at you
Even if you can't answer all the questions in one go...don't worry. Do the best you can & we'll take it from there.
