Default How do I get a Limewire shared folder in windows version of iTunes

Hi all,

I'm a Mac user and had no problem getting Limewire downloads to transfer automatically to iTunes because iTunes immediately recognized that Limewire was active and started importing downloads into a "Limewire shared" folder on its own. So all I had to do was hit "consolidate library" and never had to touch anything else to transfer music from one to the other- it's all automatic.

Then I tried to get my bf's Windows based comp to do the same thing but for some reason the windows version of iTunes doesn't have the Limewire folder and I can't figure out any other way for downloads to transfer automatically to iTunes. Is the Windows version just different than the Mac version, or is there a way to set up the same Limewire folder? If not is there any way to get downloaded music to transfer automatically?

Also I dont know if this makes a difference but my version of Limewire on my Mac is not the pro version but the version running on the Windows PC is Pro

Ok I just saw this post...

There's a no. of ways you can get the songs into iTunes library.
* A 1st iTunes File menu > Add to Library... & select the songs to add. Hold SHIFT key for selecting multiple songs.
* B Drag & drop the songs onto iTunes Library icon above the playlists. This can be via your Saved Files or Shared folders or directly via LW's Library window.
* C Create a Playlist within LW. Save it with a unique name & as an m3u file. Then import that playlist into iTunes. Then go to iTunes menu >Advanced>Consolidate Library. This will copy the actual files to iTunes own library folders.
* D Launch your new songs from LW's Library>Saved Files folder whilst iTunes is your default player. Once iTunes opens it will copy the songs to its music library. But make sure LW's media player is disabled & also, iTunes menu>Preferences>Advanced & Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library option is ticked! LW's menu bar>Tools>Options>Player & uncheck option to disable LW's media player.

Does this mean that I can do: * D Launch your new songs from LW's Library>Saved Files folder whilst iTunes is your default player.

And then all I would have to do is LAUNCH each song in LW and it will then transfer to iTunes Library? Or is there anything else I would have to do?

That's correct...
If you want individual playlists..
Go to your shared folder outside of limewire, to find this folder you need to select a file from your LW library and hit explore....
That way you can drag and drop the files in...
