Your sound card drivers may need to be updated.. |

I also understand that Dell have a way of engineering their PCs that makes them difficult to upgrade and, from working on their PCs some years back, their HD are loaded with (specialised) drivers. Saying all that, I would guess that the sound driver might have become corrupted so first port of call would be to download a new driver from Dell support. And furthermore, you will need to work out which drivers you should reload and the ones you can safely discard. Let us know how you get on. UK Bob |
you reformatted the HDD eh?...that of course means you had to reinstall the OS...I'm guessing you didn't install the drivers for the sound card...I'm also guessing you didn't install the chipset drivers for the MoBo...you can choose to visit windows update and do a custom scan for updates, and among those I bet will be drivers for the sound...I don't think there will be chipset drivers, but possibly.... or as ukbobby points out, you may have to go to Dell's website and download and install their proprietary drivers, and hopefully they will have the chipset for that specific MoBo...and any other drivers associated with the way that system is supposed to run... |
I did all of that peerless it still not working |
i will just have to get the disk off of my brother that's where i got the computer from in the first place. Thanks any way. |
