Unhappy New Version Trouble

I've been using Limewire for years, as it's the easiest P2P program I've found and usually returns good results. I've been updating over the years as newer versions came out, and have never had a problem until recently. I'm not sure which version I was running before the newest one came out, but I began to see trouble when I upgraded to the newer version of Basic (I think it said 4.14.8). The program took forever to actually start, then a long time (5 min or more) to connect, and everything seemed doggingly slow. I would click a tab for example, and sometimes have to wait 30 sec-1 min for the command to activate, and while it was open it slowed down any other programs that were running by a large percent, making things take double and triple the normal time to execute. I couldn't even close the program normally. I would exit it to system tray then go to exit from there, only it wouldn't allow it. I would have to manually exit the process from the Windows Task Manager (I'm using XP). I decided to give Frostwire a try, as it's basicly a copy of limewire, but as soon as I upgraded that version, I had the exact same prolems with it. I don't know if there's anything I can do to my system to make the new versions work. If not, I would be completely happy to go back to the last version I had that worked, but need a place to download it from. Any ideas?

*Edit* I found my old version (4.12.something) but am still curious as to why i would have so much trouble with the new one

I'm finding that the new version is sucking up most of my CPU. This is under Vista but under any OS would be intolerable of course.

What the hell is it doing to be using so much CPU, 75 - 90% ??

4.14.8 in a word SUCKS!!! I have never had a single problem with prior versions. Installed/upgraded to 4.14.8 Pro launced LW, watched the splash screen say all was loading then, now wait for it, ABSOLUTLY FRIGGIN NOTHING!! Did every single step suggested on the FAQ's and forums to correct and still NOTHING! E-mailed support 3 seperate times and ZERO response! WTF LW?? I'm hoping to still have a copy of 4.12, but this is BS and now they want to charge even more for pro and upgrade abilities!! What a crock!

Maybe, just maybe someone at LW is reading this! Any ideas on how to get 4.14.8 to actually work? Would be nice to use what I have paid for!

Try these fixes guys...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....
Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

No offense intended, wondering why, but I have tried ALL of the suggestions including both that you have mentioned on more than one occassion! Unfortunately there is a bug in the newest version that LW needs to fix and they also need to reply to people who financially support them by purchasing Pro versions. I've been using limewire for a long time and have purchased and re-purchased LW pro on multiple occassions. I have also paid on a per computer basis to fully support this product and still no response from support!

Thank you for trying to help!

Unhappy

This is my first post, (hello to all of you), since a week or so CPU is up to 99%.
Version 4.14.8 was running fine 'till then, no new programs installed, nothing changed, it came 'out of the blue'.Of course I do have Java 1.6.0, just freshly updated and I am running XP.
Good to know that I am not the only one with the CPU problem.
Until there is a fix I'll try the 'ohhhhhmmmmmm..............'

Running Wolf
