Installed LW after a crash- Worked OK - Did an LW update & now it will not start - ?

I did not know the existence of this forum!!! So, I have to read all the info already contained here, but for awile... What can I do next?

I had been using LW for a long time and everybody here had been happy until now: we had a crash and we reinstalled everything new and started using LW and it worked ok for a couple of days, I can not tell you what happened because not all the updates were downloaded by me (but my kids are blaming me for this problem), when I try to open LW, it opens the green logo and appears to upload everything and opens, but inmediately closes, without any error and keep the icon on the taskbar, when I try to open it from the icon, the icon disapears!!!

I found the forum and started reading a few things an tryed them out but no avail.

We are using Xp PRO SP2 in a 3.0 Intel, and as I read, deleted the new Java version and tryed to install an old version but, Java insists and install the new version!!!

What do you guys recomend??? Any answer will be welcome!!!
