Another iTunes and Limewire Thread

Alright. I have a problem with iTunes and Limewire (I hope this is posted in the right place, btw), but it's a little different then what most people post.

Before, I have always downloaded new songs (just basically 'add all audio to playlist' and then clicking, 'Save As' and saving it as a Limewire playlist), and added them as a playlist from Limewire to my iTunes library.

I had no problems with this before, but now when I try to add a playlist again (using the same process, but it's just larger because it has more songs) it doesn't work. They show up on the playlist in Limewire, but when after I save it and add it to iTunes, nothing has changed.

Can anyone PLEASE help me with this, or at least point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance. :)

No one can help me with this? Should I contact Limewire? Or just give up?

Take a look at this thread below.

You'll have to find your saved folder first...in LW's library highlight a file & click Explore. Your saved folder will open. Now add files from here into your iTunes library. There's a lot more info in this thread.

Transferring music to iPod & iTunes

Thank you very much! :Smilywais:
I did browse through some threads, and some help on Limewire, but I guess I didn't search hard enough. I wasn't sure if this was a common problem or not.

People do get confused when they see the LimeWire playlist within iTunes. Unfortunately, that's simply a playlist & the actual files are still within your LW download folder. So you need to manually add them to iTunes Music Library via the techniques in the link Remoc gave you. There's several methods you can use. IF you don't do that, then should you remove or delete the music files in the LW download folder, then they will disappear from iTunes too. Which is why they need to be added properly. But at least iTUnes has its own music library. WMP is simply a playlist player ... & should you move or remove any files from their locations, WMP also won't be able to play them. With iTunes, once the files are within its own library they are safe. :)
