Limewire update query
 

Hey all!
Been away for a while so been a bit out of touch. Firstly, apologies to the ppl if this is in the wrong place (ive looked about and no such luck).
Im gonna get right to the point here. I have windows XP SP2 and i own the 4.12.11. When I load up LW I notice that at the bottom of the main screen in "red" it flashes "a newer version is available, update?" The newer version is 4.14.
So, should I update? What are the main benefits and more importantly - is it safe. Ive heard all sorts about worms, bugs, trojans and all sorts of bad stuff coming via LW. Please help me and put my mind at ease. I daren't update untill im 100% put in the clear. Thanks all.

The actual limewire program doesn't have the viruses and malware, it's what the user chooses to download that causes them to get infected...If your a wise p2p user you can avoid them...

That said are you happy with the version you have ??
I would strongly suggest saving the 4.12.11 installer and then give the newer version ago, that way if you don't like it you can re-install the old version again...;)
